We'll all miss Mike. If you ever met Mike, you will agree that he always had a smile on his face and a very jovial laugh; one of those laughs that comes from the belly and makes you feel good all over. You always felt better after being with Mike even for just a moment. Please help us celebrated Mike's life, memorized his death and support his family during this grieving time by providing a memory, words of encouragement, and a generous financial contribution.
Mike succumbed to COVID-19 on Friday the 19th and leaves behind his lovely wife, Gina; three children and a large extended international family. Originally from Ghana, he settled in Woodbridge, VA over a decade ago.
He joined Hard Times Cafe in 2002 as an assistant manager while going to school majoring in math. He quickly rose to the ranks of general manager and received a Bachelor of Science Degree from George Mason University. Hard Times' owner Richard Kelly says "Mike was the friendliest, most positive person at Hard Times. He was always there for his staff and our many customers who loved to come visit with him."
When not at work or with his family, you would find him on the golf course with friends who while not great players all loved the game. They sometimes played in local tournaments. He enjoyed a good game of hockey and supported and loved our Washington Capitals.
Mike, you are much loved and will be greatly missed.
We hope you will join us with a generous donation to help cover the cost of Mike's funeral and to support his family as they deal with this unexpected tragedy.
