Mike Contreras Mike From Maracas Medical Bills Fundraiser

Hi family, friends, and neighbors from around the community of Lincoln Heights and beyond. This Go Fund Me is being created by Raymond Rios for a good friend Mike Contreres better known to many as, Mike from Maracas. He is the proud owner and heart of Maracas Restaurant located on North Broadway and Gates Street in Lincoln Heights. This has been a family owned restaurant for the past fifteen years. During this time, Mike has dedicated his life to keeping it open and to keep prices affordable for the residents in the surrounding community. It is one of the last intimate restaurants in the neighborhood where residents, seniors and young alike, can come and afford a hardy Mexican meal. Anyone who knows Mike, knows that his generosity and love for his community of Lincoln Heights extends far beyond his restaurant. He has always faithfully supported many of the community events such as the Lincoln High School Alumni dances, the Lincoln Heights Christmas Parades, and the annual Lincoln Park Fireworks Shows to name a few.

In December of 2024, Mike suffered a stroke/brain aneurism while shopping at Smart and Final in Lincoln Heights and was rushed to County General Hospital where Doctors performed emergency surgery to relieve pressure in his brain. He currently remains in an unconscious state but with each passing day, he is showing small signs of improvement. In the meantime, his wife Maria and family continue to run the restaurant but medical bills are now arriving. We are asking those who know Mike to please consider a donation of any amount to help his family offset some of these pending medical bills.
