Mike Catton's Medical Emergency Fund

As some may already be aware, Mike Catton (Calabasas High School - 1984) suffered a significant stroke on September 8, 2020. Patty, his wife, was fortunately there and able to act swiftly and call 911. Medical assistance was rendered almost immediately which is imperative in stroke occurrences. Mike was taken to a hospital nearby their home in Santa Rosa, CA and later transferred to California Pacific Medical Center - Davies Campus Hospital in San Francisco where he was admitted to their stroke center. There, he underwent an emergency neurothrombectomy (clot removal from his brain.)
Most often, while recovering, brain injury survivors appear “normal” to the onlooker. This normalcy could not be further from the truth. Brain injuries are invisible and take an enormous amount of time to heal. Mike is improving slowly, and is expected to make a full recovery, but medical bills are mounting and will continue to do so throughout this process. He needs multiple therapies for the foreseeable future in order to continue on his road to recovery. Although insurance has covered a portion of these expenses, in the month since his stroke the Cattons have already incurred thousands and thousands of dollars in medical expenses.
Many people have asked what they can do to help. This is it, guys. Patty has devoted her time and energy as a full-time caregiver to Mike, making his full recovery her utmost priority. We can definitely send our love and support, but banding together to help with the financial burden will remove some of the stress.
