Mike Blankenship Medical Expenses

As some of you may know, my Uncle Mike had a pretty serious fall recently. He will require oral surgery for the fall and Medicare does not cover any of the cost for dental services, or many other things. Aside from the fall, he was diagnosed with thyroid cancer last month. He hasn’t told a lot of people because he doesn’t like them to worry about him. He will be having surgery to remove his thyroid, the cancer, biopsies of his lymph nodes to see if it has spread and how far and what stage it is. He will also have radiation treatments after the surgery to remove the cancer. As most of you know, he has had a cardiac transplant and is on a fixed income due to this, and his monthly income is less than the amount of ONE of his prescriptions for his anti rejection medication that he has to take daily to stay alive. This man is loved by so many, myself included and would and does do anything for anyone that he can. He has lost a lot in the past 13 years, more than most do in a lifetime, yet he still manages to put a smile on his face, help others as he can and will do anything just to make you laugh if you are down. His daughter and I are asking for help to lessen the financial burden and hopefully alleviate some of his stress. The funds will be used for his surgeries, medical bills, and so that he can have the surgery sooner rather later, as it’s obviously imperative he has it. And to hopefully help him get back on his feet after the surgeries and radiation. He would never ask anyone for help, despite helping anyone that he can. So now WE are asking for help for the man that we all love and adore and hope to have for many, many more years. No contribution is too small, and even if you aren’t able to contribute, please share and prayers are always appreciated!! We don’t know the exact amount that will be needed so we started with this amount and if it needs to be increased, we can. The oral surgery alone is around $2000, and that’s not counting anything to do with his cancer surgery, radiation or follow up appointments. Let’s show this amazing man how loved and appreciated he truly is!!! He contributed when I almost died and had to have my own transplant, so I would just like to try and return the favor.
