It’s going on 6 Months since our dad’s life changed forever, and since that day, our family’s world has been turned upside down.

In December, our dad suffered a catastrophic hemorrhagic stroke in the basal ganglia, a critical part of the brain responsible for movement and vital functions. In a matter of moments, everything we knew about our lives changed. The stroke alone was devastating, but it came on top of years of high blood pressure, a previous brain bleed, and advanced kidney disease — leaving his body already fighting an uphill battle.

Since that day, our lives have been filled with hospital hallways, ICU waiting rooms, sleepless nights, and conversations no family is ever prepared to have.

For weeks, he remained in the ICU, unconscious even after sedation was removed. We sat beside his bed day after day, hoping and praying for signs that he could hear us or feel us there. Eventually he was transferred to a nursing facility, but the fight has not stopped.

Over these past three months, he has been in and out of the hospital, facing one complication after another. His body now depends on dialysis to survive kidney failure, and he has been battling painful bed sores and infections from being unable to move on his own. Watching someone you love endure this kind of suffering is something no family can truly prepare for.

Doctors have told us that 90 days is often a critical point for someone in his condition, and the road ahead remains incredibly uncertain.

But what we do know is this: our dad is still here, and we refuse to stop showing up for him.

Every day we sit beside him, talk to him, hold his hand, and remind him that he is not alone. We tell him we love him. We tell him we’re still here. We hope, with everything we have, that somehow he can feel that.

Our dad has always been the kind of person who gave everything to his family. He worked hard, showed up when we needed him, and never asked for anything in return. Now, in the most painful chapter of our lives, we are doing everything we can to make sure he is cared for with dignity, compassion, and love.

But the reality is that 90 days of hospital stays, dialysis, and long-term care have created overwhelming financial pressure on our family.

The funds raised will help us cover:

• Long-term nursing and rehabilitation care

• The many unexpected costs that come with a prolonged medical crisis
