Mike and Wendy Penhall's Bushfire Rebuild Appeal
Donation protected
Mike, Wendy and the kids, arrived back into Adelaide from KI on the 28th of December to spend some time over the Christmas/ New Year with family and friends, Mike was requested back to KI the following day to assist with the fire fighting efforts at the Ravine fire.
Mike and Family have lived in KI for 16 years, both Mike and Wendy are with the Parks and Wildlife Department and stationed at Flinders Chase, Wendy works as a volunteer with the Ambulance Service with occasional days with Parks.
Their two children, Matthew (15) and Emily (13) have grown up there. Matthew worked part time at the Visitor Centre to earn his 'pocket- money'.
Before leaving to return to Adelaide, Mike had taken those things that were not in the Bush Fire Evacuation Plan across to the Visitor Centre for safe keeping, yesterday, the 3rd of January he found out that the Visitor Centre along with their home had been devastated by the fire that is still threatening Flinders Chase, Vivonne Bay, and the Hanson Bay areas.
Everything that they were not wearing, or was in the Evacuation pack is gone.
On behalf of Mike's family, we, and they, would appreciate any financial assistance to help them rebuild their lives.
Thank You,
Michelle and Terry Powell
