What happened to the Shaw Family?
The Shaw family has been profoundly impacted by the Camp Fire in Paradise, California. Lisa, Mike, their two kids (Zach & Braxton), and their family dog (Gizmo) were lucky to escape unharmed, but their home and personal belongings were completely destroyed by the fast-moving flames.

Backstory to Shaw Family
In 2003, Lisa and Mike purchased their home in Paradise with the intent of raising their future family together. When they became parents, they both relocated to new jobs closer to home to spend more time with their children.
On Thursday, November 8, they were taken by complete surprise when they were forced to immediately evacuate their town of Paradise. Like many other community members, they had little time to grab their belongings as they quickly evacuated. Although they are blessed to have each other, they have lost everything in the fire - clothes, toys, food, their house, a storage unit, and countless irreplaceable items.
Where are they living now?
Now without a home and living with relatives, they are slowly emerging from this devastation and grasping their new reality. We can only imagine the tragic loss and fear that the Shaw family is experiencing.
Who is the Shaw family?
The Shaws are good people, caught in a dreadful and unexpected situation where they desperately need help. They are known to be helpful in times of need; supportive of friends and family; and are raising their family with love at its core. They are the type of people who do good deeds without asking for anything in return.
As an elementary school educator for almost 20 years, Lisa has given so much to all the communities she has been a part of. This is a beautiful opportunity to be able to give back to someone who has given so much of herself to her students, families, and community.

The Shaw family would benefit greatly from the generosity of others during this very difficult time in their lives.

Who is setting this up for Shaw family?
My name is Dr. Iztaccihuatl Soto. I have known Lisa Shaw for more than 20 years. We met in high school and began to build a strong bond when we taught at the same school site. My intent is to offer a streamlined avenue for people to provide monetary donations to help the Shaw family in their time of need.
Together - with our donations - we can ease the Shaw's transition into a new chapter in their life.
