Hello we are Mike and Geraldine , we are in our 70's have lived in our house in France for 22 years . Just over a week ago we awoke to find part of our roof had collapsed , a devastating sight to see . We were lucky as we were asleep in the room below the collapse but on the ground floor so escaped unhurt . We immediately called our insurance agents who gave us the names of a builder and a carpenter , they came straightaway and over the next two days made the remaining roof safe and put a temporary cover over the collapsed area . We had to pay a deposit to the builder and carpenter which has wiped out the small savings we had . Our immediate problem is paying them for the work they have already done , our next problem is paying for a new roof . We do have insurance on the house but it is looking more and more unlikely that they will pay our claim . We have always paid our own way in life but the solution to this catastrophe is beyond what we are able to do on our own , so we are asking for donations to help us repair our roof so that we are able to remain in our home .

Our first priority is to pay the carpenters and builders who have made the house safe , a massive € 11500 but they deserve every cent for their prompt arrival and hard work in putting up a temporary roof .
