Mike Spendley, Forest Hill’s beloved starter of many decades, and the love of his life and cherished wife, Christine, have been battling an aggressive form of cancer for many years. Prior to Mike’s retirement they had seen Christine’s cancer battled into remission, but regrettably, it has returned with a vengeance that has required Christine to endure her most aggressive chemotherapy treatments to date. Mike and Christine are again fighting hard to beat this cancer and are driving several hours to Duke University every week for six hour treatments. The toll for their fight is a steep one both emotionally and financially. Please join us in helping to ease the unrelenting economic burdens that Mike and Christine face during these difficult days so that they may concentrate on defeating the malevolent disease that confronts them.
