Mikayla's Sunken Home

Last night our dear friend Mikayla was told that her house boat was sinking. 

When she rushed back to the Fraser River she found her family desperately salvaging what they could of their possessions.

After throwing what they had in a trailer, their home became fully submerged in the early hours of this morning.

It's impossible to imagine what losing your home and belongings feels like, especially two weeks before Christmas and in the dead of Vancouver's winter. I believe the unseasonably cold weather was responsible for the damage on the boat which caused it to sink.

No one can bring her home back, but your donations will go towards supplying Mikayla and her family with the basic provisions they need in order to rebuild their lives and find a new home.

Any donations big or small are sincerely appreciated, and will be passed onto Mikayla and her family on Christmas day.
