Help Mikayla: Support Her After Loss of Parents

Donation protected
Friends, I come to you all with a very heavy heart and an appeal to help in supporting my god daughter, Mikayla Fry, who has experienced the devastating loss of both her parents to cancer. Mikayla lost her mother and my dear friend, Amy Clark Fry just four years ago to breast cancer. Then, on Monday March 4th, Mikayla lost her father, Charles Fry, to kidney cancer. Mikayla is absolutely heartbroken and is now left to navigate her life without either of her parents by her side.

Please consider supporting Mikayla through this tragedy. All proceeds will go directly to Mikayla (with financial guidance) so that finances might be one less thing that she has to worry about. Every dollar helps so that Mikayla can pay for the funeral expenses & burial, any bills, utilities & mortgage, as well as any day to day needs. Anything extra will go toward Mikayla’s college fund.

Mikayla was only 9 years old when her mother, Amy was first diagnosed with cancer. At that time, Amy had brain cancer and needed a dangerous surgery to remove a large tumor. Amy survived the surgery and continued treatment and regular check ups afterwards. Four years later, the family received horrible news that the cancer returned. Amy was then diagnosed with breast cancer. Amy underwent surgeries, chemo treatments and radiation but unfortunately could not win this second fight and passed away, just 4 days before Christmas of 2019. Mikayla was just 13 years old.

During Amy’s battle with breast cancer, Mikayla’s father, Charles was diagnosed with kidney cancer. Over time, the cancer eventually spread into Charles blood and other organs. As you can imagine, this news was completely shocking and left Mikayla in despair. Now she would watch both of her parents fighting the same battle and ultimately suffer the worst loss.

Mikayla is an only child and senior in high school at Hilliard Davidson High School. She is set to graduate this May and has aspirations to attend college at Otterbein University in the equestrian program. While Mikayla should be having the best year of her life as a senior, instead she has spent the school year helping care for her ill father. Mikayla just had a birthday in February and turned 18. In lieu of celebrating this special milestone, Mikayla spent the day by her father’s side at the hospital. Mikayla has also had to skip many high school activities over the years, including playing on the school’s softball team (and travel team), where she played varsity as just a freshman.

Thank you in advance for your contribution to this fund. Any amount is greatly appreciated. Most importantly, please send all your love and prayers.
