My name is Mikala and I have a one-year-old son. I am hesitant to make this GoFundMe, but I see no other options and I am desperate. My son and I are escaping domestic violence from my son’s father. Through the past 2 years, I have endured and my son has had to witness me go through verbal, emotional, physical, and financial abuse and control and isolation. I have always provided for myself but through the isolation and control, I have lost my car and so much more. We have left our home and are in a safe place for a limited time but that time will pass very quickly. I currently have none of our belongings with us as my son’s father is refusing to let me into my own home to collect my things as well as my tools and equipment for work. I have contacted police and there is only so much they can do they say. So currently, I am unable to work and I have bills coming out simultaneously. I want to cut ties and escape this abuse for good and give myself and my son an opportunity to have a fresh start where he can have the childhood he deserves and I can be the best mother possible to my son. I know times are trying and there is so much hurt and struggle in this world, so I appreciate anything.
