Mikaela's Dance Journey Needs You

Hi! My name is Mikaela Buckner-Lucas. I'm a ninth grader at Chapel Hill High School. I'm a member of DECA, HOSA, and Beta Club. I'm also the current president of The Phi Pi Zeta Chapter Archonettes, the youth auxiliary group of Zeta Phi Beta Incorporated. But my true calling has always been dance. I've been a competitive dancer since I was 3 years old. Everything has always been great until the last couple of years. Times have not been kind for my family and me. My mother has struggled to keep up. She's epileptic and had to step back from working until she can get the seizures under control. She's also at the beginning stages of a divorce. All this to say, I need help. I want to continue my work in dance and eventually pursue a career in it. I won't be able to compete this year at all my competitions. My mother can't afford it. I work hard all year just for competition season, and this year, it doesn't look like I'm going to be able to perform. Anything will help. Please and Thank you All!
