As many of you know my dad passed away earlier this week. Unfortunately, due to our immigration status our family was unable to say our goodbyes and attend the funeral that took place in Mexico. One of our dad’s last wishes was to return to his family here in Omaha, NE. Many of you have asked how you can help, our family would appreciate a donation towards the transportation of our Father’s ashes from Mexico to Omaha and cremation interment in lieu of flowers or gifts. Our story: My dad was deported on September 22, 2015, after living in the United States for almost 20 years. My dad was a brave man. He raised me and my two sisters, many years while working two jobs. 10 years ago, he founded our business MARIA Bonita Mexican Cuisine. Those who knew my dad know that he fought cancer many years. He was a working-class man, never missed a day at work unless he was at the hospital. He led by example. This morning, we were reminded how important family was to him. He knew we were taken care of, we are all married to wonderful men. We were his motivation to keep fighting, however, WE are at peace knowing that he is now in the presence of the Lord, esta descansando, ya no sufre mas.

Due to our families immigration status, we were unable to travel to take care of him while he fought cancer one last time, nor are we able to be there to say one last time good-bye.
