Miguel Cortez

The Del Oro High School community lost a valued member of their Golden Eagle family recently with the passing of Miguel Cortez. In loving memory of Miguel, we have established the "Miguel Cortez Memorial Scholarship" to commemorate his life and honor his legacy and give back to the school that gave him so much. In lieu of flowers, we invite you to join us in creating a lasting impact by supporting this scholarship.

Miguel was a senior at Del Oro High School and part of a long line of Golden Eagles in his family. The Del Oro community has loved and supported Miguel, his siblings and family for quite some time. The Cortez family would like to give back to the school that has given so much to their family through a scholarship for graduating Seniors. The goal is to make this available for the Graduating Class of 2024 Seniors. In order to do that, the family is looking for your help and assistance.

The "Miguel Cortez Memorial Scholarship" will provide financial assistance to deserving students who embody the qualities and values Miguel held dear. Miguel was intensely loyal, passionate, funny and generous. Miguel had many talents and enjoyed playing 5 different sports at Del Oro and receiving 3 Varsity letters. Outside of school he enjoyed riding BMX, fishing with cousins, his church and youth group and working with his families' businesses.

Through this scholarship, the family aims to support graduating seniors who have plans to continue their education whether it be used for Community, Technical or Trade College as well as undergraduate or graduate studies.

With your help, the funds raised will establish and sustain the scholarship, ensuring that Miguel's memory lives on for generations to come.
