Hoy mi papá requiere una operación urgente en ambos ojos, pues las cataratas han avanzado a tal punto que se está quedando ciego. Aunque esta es una enfermedad totalmente tratable, debido a la crisis en Venezuela representa un enorme reto que no ha encontrado solución en la salud pública, por esto nuestra única alternativa es recurrir a la medicina privada.

Miguel Carballo es un excepcional artesano de juguetes de madera y renombrado cuentacuentos. El ha hecho de estos dos nobles oficios el principal sostén de mi familia. Sin embargo, estas actividades son lujos impagables en un país donde la prioridad es la comida del día a día, lo que ha ocasionado que cada vez tengan menos trabajo. Como bien sabemos, la artesanía, si es asumida como vocación, no genera más riquezas que la satisfacción de producir belleza con las manos.

Siempre llevó su vocación mágica con las palabras a escuelas, bibliotecas o cualquier lugar donde lo solicitaran. Demostró una generosidad sin igual, pues nunca cobró ni el más mínimo pago por la ello. Además, es un incansable inventor que cada día nos sorprende con las creaciones de sus hábiles manos.

Necesitamos tu ayuda.

Papá necesita una cirugía que está absolutamente fuera del alcance de nuestros limitados recursos económicos: tiene un costo total de 3300$; a este monto hay que sumarle las medicinas para el postoperatorio y los exámenes médicos previos.

Nuestro mayor deseo es volver a ver a nuestro padre feliz haciendo lo que ama, es por ello que hemos emprendido esta campaña solidaria.

My dad needs urgent surgery

Today my dad requires an urgent operation on both eyes because he is going blind due to cataracts, a totally treatable disease but which in Venezuela represents a huge challenge that has not found a solution in public health, so we have to resort to private medicine in this broken country.

Miguel Carballo, my father, is an exceptional craftsman of wooden toys and renowned storyteller, he has made of these two noble trades the main breadwinner of my family,

The stories and the toys were the basis on which my father and my mother supported my brother and me. However, these activities are unpayable luxuries in a country in which the priority is everyday food, which has caused them to have less and less work. In addition, craftsmanship, if it is assumed as a vocation, does not generate more wealth than the satisfaction of producing beauty with your hands.

My dad is an extraordinary "storyteller" who took his magical vocation to public schools, libraries, or any place where it was requested, demonstrating unparalleled generosity, as he never charged even the slightest payment for admission.

In addition, he is a tireless inventor who surprises us every day with the creations of his skillful hands, unfortunately, every day his vision deteriorates due to the advance of cataracts and that has reduced his activities to the point of not being able to do anything by himself

The problem is surgery, absolutely beyond the reach of our limited financial resources: it has a total cost of $ 3,300; to this amount, we must add the medicines for the postoperative period and the exams previous intervention
