Brothers of the Mighty MU Sigma Chapter! During our Founders Week State of the Frat Meeting, we discussed and voted unanimously to continue the mission of our Mighty MU Sigma Project 100 Fund for 2015 ($100 per brother) with a deadline of October 1, 2015.
We have over 150+ Brothers that have come through MU Sigma and we can do wonders when you look at the Big Picture of the Cause.
Here are a few things we have done so far that is reflective of all of our MU Sigma brothers from this Fund:
1. Paid off an outstanding debt ($500+) that the Chapter had with SFA 2014
2. Legacy Financial Gift to 4 of the 6 families of our Brothers that have transitioned on to Chapter Invisible (Vic Edmonds family $250 Dec 2014, Rod Jacquet's family $250 Dec 2014, Mark Deckard's family $250 April 2015 and Darryl Williams family $350 August 2015)
3. Paid $450+ for Founders Weekend April 2015 with the Food, Financial Donation to Charity Organizations bowling and other other activities for the brothers.
4. Paid $75 for Homecoming Day October 2015 for food.
5. Paid $1615 for fees due to IHQ/SW Province to clear outstanding insurance fees, certification and officers report to have an intake process for the Spring 2016
GAMEPLAN
There are no brothers on the yard at SFA at this time however when Nationals do decide to lift the moratorium and allow intake to happen on our yard, we need to be prepared.
At this current time December 2015, we are in line to have an intake process at SFA for the Spring 2016 semester. Our Grand Polemarch, Brother Thomas Battles set the intention and goal to get undergrad chapters back on the yard and functioning and our Province Polemarch, Bro. Timothy Albert, has asked us to get in position to get this done.
SFA Student Engagement Director, Amanda Horne met with a few of the brothers and granted us the approval for MU Sigma to be accepted back on the SFA Campus for the Spring of 2016.
After meeting with the ETx. Regional Advisor and others in Kappa leadership, our fees to get MU Sigma in good standing with IHQ and the SW Province, we would have to pay $1615. Thanks to the bros. that donated with your finances to assist in having the necessary funds to pay this and continue with our cause.
I want to ask that alighn ourselves with an Alumni chapter so that we are armed and informed with the right communication and updates from Kappa, organizing and aligning our own chapter bros with the authorized alumni chapter that directly influences what goes on at SFA and being independently financial.
There is still a big push for all brothers all over to get financial and involved with IHQ (Nationals) and if we (MU SigmaBrothers) do this, this will show Nationals how serious we are with the business of Kappa and also about our chapter's business as well.
Let us keep our MU Sigma brotherhood strong with our Leadership efforts, Service and Achievements in every field of endeavor, leading the way in Nacogdoches (or should I say Kappadoches as Rickey Scott called it) and throughout all of the cities and communities that we reside and work in.
Yours in the Bond,
Patrick Jackson
