Mighty Maya


Maya was born with a rare neurological disorder called Hemimegalencephaly. This disorder causes catastrophic epileptic seizures that in time would severley debilitate Maya's cognition and even kill her. Anti-seizure medication will not work to control her seizures. The only way to help Maya live a productive and fulfilling life is to have her undergo radical surgery, a hemispherectomy, that would disconnect the "bad" half of her brain. We, Maya's parents, are asking for donations to go towards the cost of  everything associated with Maya's journey, from travel, to medical needs, to physical and occupational therapy among other expenses. We know that Mighty Maya is strong enough for the challenges ahead and we thank you for helping her get there by either spreading the word or donating to her cause.
