Help Aria Heal: Support Her Urgent Medical Care

Dear friends, ever since we adopted Aria we have spent every day of our lives always adjusting to whatever she needed because she is our baby. All the spending always goes towards her and our other baby Ansel. Aria’s adoptaversary is coming on November 30th and we would love for her to spend many more years together.

Aria has been a kitty that has had health issues even from when we rescued from being euthanized in 2015. We always made sure that the majority of our spending has gone towards having both of our kitties eating the healthiest food, having an amazing vet and also molding our life based on her wants and needs. Any challenge we have faced, we have done so with our own finances even if that meant not having any for ourselves. Most people might disagree with this, but our cats are our responsibility and our family and therefore that means that they always come first.

Aria has had allergies and sensitivities for a while so we have her on herbs and stem cells for that, she has had pancreatitis a couple of times and we manage that as well with supplements, herbs, healthy food and love, she has chronic URI which we also manage with l-Lysine and making sure we don’t go for walks in the stroller in colder weather. Ever since COVID we have been struggling in a lot of ways but we have not asked for help, because as much as we love helping others, we have a very difficult time asking for help.

Last month we got attacked twice in a span of a week and the second time we got attacked by a 100+ on dog who was at least 3 feet tall. He carried Aria in his mouth and he really wanted to hurt both of the kitties. Aria did get hurt in the process and one of her nails also got ripped out while she was tryin to climb a tree to run away. We do not blame the dog but nobody was helpful and the guardian never even called to apologize. So we were left to deal with the trauma, the bruises, the bites, the bills, and now we have yet another health issue for Aria that we would like to solve but we need your help.

On Saturday, Nov 2, we noticed that Aria had a two cases of peeing close together so we monitored her. She proceeded to pee more frequently, so on Tuesday, Nov 5, we called our vet and sent him the bathroom log for the peeing and we wanted to go in right away but our wonderful vet is always triple booked and told us to come on Thursday, Nov 7. On Nov Aria got SQ fluids, B12 Aquapuncture, she got her bloodwork done and a urinalysis.

On the morning of Nov 8, Aria all of a sudden, around 2:15 AM, became lethargic and while we were carrying her she peed involuntarily. When we got her down onto the floor she was very wobbly and fell to her side. We rushed her to VEG (ER) where they said that she had had a focal seizure, they gave her a shot of Cerenia, for nausea and inflammation, and did an ultrasound on her abdomen where they proceeded to tell us that her liver and spleen looked off, irregular, and suspicious. That they were not smooth like they should be but seemed more bumpy.

We took Aria home and for a few hours and spoke to our vet on the phone in the morning around 7 AM where we updated him and he updated us on Aria’s blood and urinalysis results. He told us that her liver values were above normal (ALT, AST, GGT). Her RBC, Neutrophils, and Monocytes were above normal as well. He told us to see the other vet in the practice at 12:00 PM on Nov 8 since he was not working that day.

When we came, our other vet gave Aria a shot of Convenia, antibiotic, for the increased RBC count, and did an X-ray, where she said that compared to the previous month where Aria’s X-rays from the dog attack here normal, the area around the spleen and liver was not clear and well seen anymore. She proceeded to do the ultrasound where she said that she didn’t like how the liver and spleen looked either. Aria was amazing through all of these visits, she made sure to let them know she wasn’t happy with her growls though.

She recommended that we see an ultrasound specialist so that we would be able to know for sure what might be going on and how to best proceed based on that information. She put an outpatient request in for us for the ultrasound and we got approved. The appointment is $755 and we want to get it done ASAP. We want to go on Tuesday, Nov 12, and see what is going on with Aria’s liver and spleen.

We want to be able to provide Aria with the care needed for the visits we’ve already paid for and any future ones and we really need your help for that. She absolutely deserves the world, our mighty lady Aria. We are so very scared and have been crying, because we love Aria so very much and want her to be okay. Please share and donate if you’re able to, any amount helps. Thank you very much and it means the absolute world to us whatever support you’re able to provide.
