1/6/2018 UPDATE:
It has been over a year since my family began this horrrible journey with my Cholangiocarcinoma Cancer, or bile duct cancer of the liver. Since being diagnosed early last year, we have travelled all over the state of Florida trying to seek a hospital or doctors that could help us.
Earlier this year we spent 2 weeks at the Mayo clinic in Jacksonville as I was put through tests to see if I was a candidate for a liver transplant. I passed every test, except the last one which was a biopsy of a lymph node close to my liver where cancer had spread. That test, made me ineligible to receive a new liver.
We started chemo in early April and after a few rounds had scans that showed that the tumor was not shrinking. I changed doctors and hospitals and began an even more aggressive chemo that I hoped would work. So far the tumor still hasn't shrank and we are running out of options.
While we we going through all of this we found out that Cara was preganant with our first son, Tristan.
As I continued the chemo my immune system became compromised and I began to lose all of my hair. On September 7th, I woke up in the morning for chemo and once I got in my chair, I passed out and my eyes rolled into the back of my head and I was unresponsive. Cara had to call 911 and I was rushed by ambulance to the hospital and was diagnosed with Sepsis in my blood stream. I spent a week in the hospital. If Cara hadn't called 911, there's no doubt I would have died that day.
The reason I am starting up my page again is that we could still use some help from our friends and family to finish this fight strong. Surgery is not an option, as the doctors are confident that surgery is too risky to my health and they wouldn't be able to remove all of the cancer. They're are only a couple procedures and or experimental chemo/ trials and radiation left for me to explore. We are actually looking at a couple of clinical trials in Mexico that have had great success with my cancer. We want to be able to make an appointment soon if our other two options don't work out. We would take all of our children with us and the cost of the treatment is 100% out of our pocket, so that's why we need your help.
I hope and pray that you can help me and my family during this incredibly difficult time by making a small donation. If you can't give, I ask that you share my page with your friends and please keep us in your prayers.
