Help Mighty Mike finish and promote his new album!

First of all I want to thank you...my awesome devoted fans and music lovers. Thanks to you I had almost 25 years of writing and recording my own music, selling it at our shows and on the web. A hell of a run, I gotta say! Two years ago I released arguably my best album ever Just Gettin' Good. It received all kinds of 4 and 5 star reviews and even hit #1 on the Living Blues Radio Charts...a chart that also had recent albums by Charlie Musselwhite, Taj Mahal and Delbert McClinton to name just a few.

Just Gettin' Good, by all industry standards, was a huge success.

Last week I tallied up all the CD sales and combined them with the thousands of Apple Music and Spotify plays. I'm ecstatic to report that that album only lost $8000 :-(

Which brings me here to GoFundMe, hat-in-hand, begging' y'all for money on the damned internet so I can finish my new album...which is gonna be great btw!!

This one is a bit of a departure for me. It's going to be a country album. "Wait! What?!? Mighty Mike, bluesman, doing country?" To that, let me just say that the great classic country artists...Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Ray Price, George, Merle and Johnny...and songwriters like Kris Kristofferson, Guy Clark and John Prine are now and have always been as near and dear to my heart as Albert Collins, T-Bone Walker, Muddy, Wolf or BB, Albert and Freddie King. To me, real country music is just blues in another form.

I even wrote about that in the opening cut "Country Roots":

I'm here to tell ya that country music

Ain't nuthin' but the blues

Songs of struggle and heartaches

Told by someone whose paid their dues

The album will be all original, of course, and I gotta say these are some of the most well-crafted songs I have ever come up with. The band is smoking' with the additions of upright bass, pedal steel and fiddle. I also feel that this is one of the most musically focused efforts I have ever done...so much so that I decided to give the band it's own name Michael Ray Pickens and His Old Man Country Band! I'm once again working with my good friend and musical genius Kid Andersen producing this wonderful music at GREASELAND USA.

But making albums is expensive y'all!...studio time, musicians, photography, graphics. Then you gotta promote it if you wanna get it out there for the world to hear...which means hiring an experienced publicist or radio promoter. None of this used to be a problem, because I knew I could sell a couple thousand copies and boom, it would be paid for and sometimes even some money left over for the next one. I rode that wave as long as I could friends, now I'm asking for your help.

I really hope you'll consider helping me bring this music to the world! Hopefully this single "There's A Song About That" will wet your whistle and leave you wanting more! Take a listen and see...
