In 2022, a good friend of mine, Simon Brake, started a not for profit charitable entity called Mighty Convoy. Its mission is to raise funds to buy and deliver second hand ambulances to Ukraine.

As at September 2025, Mighty Convoy as now sent 17 Convoys and 75 vehicles full of medical aid to Ukraine. The vehicles are either second hand ambulances or 4x4s that are used to transport casualties over rough terrain.

I have joined 3 of those Convoys, the most recent in March 2025 when a group of sailing and cycling friends based in Dun Laoghaire jointly funded and delivered 4 ambulances.

Each ambulance costs about € 8,000 to purchase and deliver. We are now raising funds to purchase at least 2 vehicles that will join a convoy in December 2025.
