In 2022, a good friend of mine, Simon Brake, started a not for profit charitable entity called Mighty Convoy. Its mission is to raise funds to buy and deliver second hand ambulances to Ukraine.

As at August 2026, Mighty Convoy as now sent 25 Convoys and 106 vehicles full of medical aid to Ukraine. The vehicles are either second hand ambulances or 4x4 pick-up trucks that are used to transport casualties over rough terrain.

I have joined 4 of those Convoys, the most recent in February 2026 when a group of sailing and cycling friends based in Dun Laoghaire, County Dublin jointly funded and delivered 5 vehicles.

Each ambulance costs € 8,000 to purchase and deliver to Ukraine. We are now raising funds to purchase further vehicles that will join a convoy departing London on 23 September 2026.
