We are planning another convoy to Ukraine in early February 2027.

This will be the fourth convoy of Irish based drivers, delivering much needed ambulances and medical aid.

Our new target is to raise funds to purchase 4 medical rescue vehicles which will be part of a convoy of 6 vehicles that will be driven to Lviv, Ukraine by the volunteers.

The driver group for the February convoy comprises: David Williams, Peter Williams, Peter Bowring, Kieron Guilfoyle, Frank O'Beirne, David Sommerville, Jonathan Westrup, Pat Fullam, David Crawford. It is likely other volunteers will join this group in the coming weeks.

The story: In 2022, a good friend of mine, Simon Brake, started a not for profit entity called Mighty Convoy. Its mission is to raise funds to buy and deliver second hand ambulances to Ukraine.

As of September 2026, Mighty Convoy has sent 26 Convoys and 111 vehicles full of medical aid to Ukraine. The vehicles are either second hand ambulances or 4x4 pick-up trucks that are used to transport casualties over rough terrain. The vehicles are handed over to The Christian Medical Association of Ukraine who deliver the ambulances to where they are most needed.

The Dun Laoghaire based group of volunteers have already made three trips to Ukraine, in March 25, Feb 26 and September 26. This group has funded and delivered 10 rescue vehicles.

Each ambulance costs € 8,000 to purchase and deliver to Lviv. We are now raising funds to purchase further vehicles that will join a convoy departing London on 3 February 2027.
