Mighty Amazon Bullies Small Churchill PA borough

Amazon will literally bulldoze our small residential borough. Churchill has approximately 3,000 residents. We are a group of community volunteers known as Churchill Future working diligently to stop this gigantic Amazon warehouse from overpowering our community.

Building this warehouse will completely destroy a 133 acre site with over 100 acres of rolling hills of green space and 1400 mature trees. It is 9% of Churchill’s total area.

The proposed warehouse is 2.9 million sq/ft. The building foot print is the size of 14 football fields with an additional parking lot approximately the size of another 14 football fields.

This Amazon warehouse will create many health and safety hazards from air, noise and light pollution to unsafe and clogged roads. There will be an additional 5200 vehicles, of these there will be over 335 semitrucks entering and leaving the facility, 24/7, 365 days a year, for Churchill residents and surrounding boroughs to face.

Flooding has been a previous issue and the warehouse will make the risk of flooding even worse.

This facility belongs in an industrial park not across from 2 large schools on one side and residential homes on 2 other sides.
