Hi, my name is Mie!

I'm a 25 yr old trans femme non binary artist currently living in Virginia.

This fundraiser is for my facial feminization surgery, this would make the biggest impact for me now as far as gender conformation surgeries go. Living with daily dysphoria heavily impedes on my ability to see and present myself in the world and feeds into the deepest parts of my anxieties and depression. Constantly having to contend with the reality of the violence directed towards trans fems. This surgery would be absolutely life changing, in this moment its still hard for me to imagine what it would be like to not have to live with this anxiety weighing on me. To be able to feel confident and alligned with how I look would inject so much freedom and ease in my everyday existence.

This is something I have been dreaming about for a long time and have been working hard this last year pursuing all possible leads. I have had to jump through so many hoops with insurance trying to see if i can get facial feminization covered and have dealt with so much rejection and gate keeping that has honesty been disheartening. My insurance is running out soon and i still have not been able to get anything covered and this reality has been so crushing and deeply affected my mental health. My depression has made it feel impossible but through the support of friends, I'm taking this first step in asking for help from the community. It saddens me so many of us our in the positions and that there are so many trials and discriminatory law directed at trans people.

That being said every donation would mean the absolute world to me, knowing that there are people out there who want to help make this possible and getting closer and closer to my goal is something I really hope to see.
