On Wednesday, July 30, a devastating fire in Ferndale deeply impacted two sisters, Ali and Marissa, who lost their home and most of their belongings. The smoke and water damage has left their house unlivable, and only a few of their possessions could be salvaged.
Ali, a beloved teacher at Bruce Peninsula District School, has been a constant presence in our community—shaping young minds, coaching youth, and giving her time to community efforts. Her younger sister, Marissa, is currently pursuing her education at Georgian College as a Registered Practical Nurse to serve and support her community.
These are two young women who have given much to our community, and now, in the face of uncertainty and loss, they could use our support.
While they navigate temporary housing and begin to rebuild their lives, we are reaching out to our extended community for help. Whether through financial support or simply sharing this message, every act of kindness will help lighten their load and remind them that they are not alone.
Let’s come together to support Ali and Marissa during this incredibly difficult time.,
