It's me, Midwife Michele! I am a Romani, queer, trans nonbinary, & disabled community midwife, herbalist, & inclusive sex ed teacher predominantly serving clients in Pittsburgh who are financially-deprived, IBPOC, queer, & gender-diverse.
As many of you know, after 2 decades of full spectrum birthwork & midwifery, I'm back in school to get my Master's of Social Work & go on to med school for Family Medicine. I am excited to finally be embarking on this journey for myself & for my community.
While my focus will remain on reproductive care & out-of-hospital birth for underserved & underrepresented folks, I am looking forward to being able to provide a higher level of care & a greater continuity of care encompassing all transitions of life: birth, breath, & death.
I am here to ask for support in getting me off to a good start on this journey. I am fortunate enough to have financial aid for tuition, but I still need assistance with books, a quality multipurpose tablet, & associated software & accessories.
Rough Breakdown:
+ $2200 for Windows Surface Pro X (w/ keyboard, stylus, damage protection)
+ $300 for software related to note-taking, research, & e-learning.
+ $500 for Autumn 2020 required & supplemental books for classes
If end up with any excess funds, I will donate them to New Voices for Reproductive Justice & the Western Pennsylvania Fund for Choice.
I appreciate your energetic and financial support and cheerleading me on in this endeavour. I appreciate you sharing this far and wide. Monthly Support Option
