DIY Lowell and community partners are inviting you to support the return of A Midsummer Dream on Merrimack Street
with a new theme: Magical and Mysterious Creatures!
A Midsummer Dream on Merrimack Street is a day and night festival celebrating magic, theatre, art, music, and costume for kids and adults! Merrimack Street will be transformed into a Pixie Marketplace, with arts and crafts vendors, activities for children, an all-ages costume contest, a fairy house promenade, and a special “traveling” production of Shakespeare’s classic The Tempest that will lead the audience on a journey through downtown, traveling from scene to scene.
This free event will be in memory of Many Lee Pho, a small business leader and force for magic and joy in downtown Lowell, who we lost to cancer last year. Our goal is to celebrate Lee’s life by spotlighting small businesses and by exposing audiences to folklore from many cultures.
The event cost includes compensation for musicians and storytellers, supplies and materials, permits, decorations, and printing for promotion. Your contribution will be considered a charitable donation and is eligible for a federal charitable tax deduction through DIY Lowell's 501(c)(3) fiscal agent, Coalition for a Better Acre.
