There are 6 bells in the tower at Holy Cross Middlezoy. Three of the headstocks are weathered and need replacing. The recommendation is to remove these bells to the bell hangers Works to be refurbished. As no major refurbishment had been undertaken for over 100 years the PCC agreed that all the bells and fitments be removed and refurbished.

In addition the support frame flexes excessively during major peals and the recommendation is to either provide additional support or replace.

Quotations were obtained from 3 internationally renowned bell hangers. The cheapest, and now preferred bellhanger, proposed removing all the bells and fitments to their Works for refurbishment and retuning. They also proposed to remove the existing frame and replace it with a new steel frame
