As some people know my cat Microwave had a strange accident while I wasn't home and I came into my room to find him unable to move his hind legs and just dragging them behind him. I rushed him to the vet and they found he broke his back legs/pelvis and had to get Femoral Head Ostectomy. I immediately scheduled the surgery and he did well, but when he wasn't showing any improvement after I started therapy with him while waiting for a spot at the neurology appointment to open up. 6 weeks later nothing had changed and I finally brought him into Neurology, where they told me exactly what they can do for him: Nothing.

He seemed to have suffered a spinal cord injury the previous vet had missed and was at least partially if not fully paralyzed from the waist down. Any movement in his back legs that had given me hope was deemed reflexive.

I got a lot of good advice on how to care for a paralyzed cat but it is going to be tough and he will need constant intention. The only other option is euthanasia and I can't do that not without giving my all first. He doesn't seem to be suffering at all and is as crazy and silly and lively as ever. Still fights with his big brother and still annoys me constantly.

Either way, I would appreciate any help. I was prepared for vet bills for my cats and I know this is my responsibility but an emergency with my other cat set my back 7000 CAD earlier this year and now Microwave is another 4500 CAD so my funds are drained. The unexplainable nature of Microwave's injury had also deemed him uninsurable.

My plan is to get him the supplies he needs for daily care and then try getting a cat wheelchair if he can adapt to it to help with his breathing, so any funds will go towards that.
