Micky Brackett Condo Fire

A devestating tragedy happened to a dear family friend of mine and her nephew who lives with her. An electrical fire started Monday April 2 late afternoon in Todd’s (her nephew) bedroom as he slept. Micky was on her daily walk around sun ridge. She came home walked in the door to be hit in the face with smoke. Todd luckily had woken up attempting to put the fire out himself. When that failed they scrambled to grab what they could quickly which wasn’t much. Todd was admitted into the ICU for smoke inhalation. Thankfully he was released a few days later.

The home is inhabitable. It’s destroyed by fire, water and smoke damage. I saw it first had to help her retrieve what she could a few days later. It’s a miracle Todd woke up. It was horrific, I’ve never seen anything so devestating. 

Micky has lived in Sunridge for over 30 years. She was my parents first neighbor and I’ve known her since I was an infant. She has brought life to any party/gathering with her festive hats and she always lights up a room! She has been a long time real estate agent in NJ,  an active member of the community, a wonderful friend and family member! Her nephew lost his parents years ago, they only have each other. They need our help! 

Please donate ate what you can! She only had structural insurance on her home which doesn’t cover anything else. Basically she has to start from scratch. Pictures, memorabilia, clothing, furniture everything is gone for the most part. A company (paid for out of pocket) thinks they can possibly “clean” some items. They specialize in fires. Any little bit helps!!!
