About Mick
Mick Wakefield has been serving the Body of Christ as a Worship Director since 2002, in 2014 Mick, his wife Nicola and his two daughters Elise and Elaura moved to Clayton from England so that Mick could become the worship director at Clayton Community Church! Since then they have added a beautiful baby girl Emelia to their family. Mick truly follows God and allows the Spirit to work through him each week as he leads the hearts and lives of many in honest and open praise and worship the Lord. His time is devoted to the Lord, his family, the church as a full time worship leader and his part time job.

The Trial
About 3 years ago Mick was riding his bicycle in front of his home when his front tire slid-out on some lose gravel causing him to crash and injure his right elbow. As innocent as the accident seemed Mick did some real damage, his radial head (the end of the radius bone in his forearm) was smashed and needed to be replaced.
After after 3 years and several surgeries the implant is continuing to cause ongoing and significant pain while allowing for less than 70% of the elbow’s normal range of motion. It has been made abundantly clear to Mick by the doctors that his chronic pain will increase and the limited range of motion Mick currently has will continue to diminish without this surgery.
The Prayer Request & Need
Mick’s surgery is scheduled for February 26, 2019, please pray for a full and quick recovery. This surgery will not only leave Mick limited physically while recovering, it will also cause an immediate financial burden. Mick’s insurance will cover the bulk of the cost for the surgery however, his out of pocket expense will still be $8,000. This sizable amount of money combined with the additional loss of income while he is unable to work at his part time job is causing reasonable stress for his family.
While understandably concerned the Wakefield family is confident that God will see them through this time as He has been there for them in many other difficult situations. This is our opportunity to support our brother in Christ as he has supported so many others through his ongoing service to the Lord.
Please hold Mick and his family up in prayer, as this is first a spiritual battle, then after prayer and consideration do not hesitate to act according to your ability, the need is real and 100% of what is received will go to what you are giving it for and it will be counted to you as grace granted by God.
2 Corinthians 8:1-5
Prayer
Lord God, You know the need, You have the power You are Lord and King, may Your will be done in Your way by Your grace for Your glory. Please bring our brother Mick, who is Your son by adoption, who is filled with the Holy Spirit, who is covered by the blood and cloaked by the righteousness of Christ Jesus, peace and healing both spiritually and physically. Lord God let Mick and his family feel Your soothing peace and constant presence as You hold them in Your arms, You are their Rock and Refuge, our Rock and Refuge, please see Mick through this trial and time of testing, bring into clarity Your purpose for his life in Your service.

1 John 3:16-18
'This is how we have come to know love: He laid down His life for us. We should also lay down our lives for our brothers. If anyone has this world’s goods and sees his brother in need but closes his eyes to his need — how can God’s love reside in him? Little children, we must not love with word or speech, but with truth and action. '
