In September of 2018, Mom was diagnosed with late Stage 2 Pancreatic Cancer. She was immediately started on a vigorous and intense chemotherapy regimen for the next several months. During this time she became a patient of Dr. Truty of the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Truty is a world renown Pancreatic Cancer doctor and surgeon and has overseen Mom’s care. Mom and Dad have traveled to Rochester, Mn. six times to meet with Dr. Truty and see how her treatments are working. Since her diagnosis she has been through almost weekly chemo/radiation treatments, all of which she has handled very well, all things considered. This has made her a candidate for a very risky but life saving surgery to remove the cancer. Dr. Truty is the only surgeon in the world who is able to perform this surgery. This surgery will require them to be in Rochester for around 5-6 weeks while Mom has the surgery and recovers. We are starting this campaign in hopes to help alleviate the cost of the surgery as well as travel expenses, lodging, food and any other incidentals while they are in Rochester. We want these things to be the last things they need to think about while Mom is recovering. We believe God’s hand has been upon Mom and Dad since before she was diagnosed and their faith through this entire journey has been truly inspiring. Above all else, we are asking for your prayers as Mom undergoes this very high risk surgery and for complete and total healing for her.
