Mick's Motorcycle Accident Fund

Calling all Family, Friends, Earth Angels and Good Samaritans,

On the evening before Thanksgiving, Wednesday, November 23rd my husband, Mick, on his way home from work was involved in an accident while riding his Harley.  The driver of the other vehicle failed to yield to oncoming traffic and made a left hand turn directly in front of him leaving no time, whatsoever, for him to avoid colliding into the other vehicle.

My husband suffered significant injuries to his right side which required nearly 8 hours of orthopedic surgery to repair.  He had several open fractures to his right arm and shoulder.  His elbow was completely shattered with bone fragments protruding through the skin, complete fracture (meaning it snapped in half) to his humerus bone, a severely fractured, fragmented and dislocated shoulder, fractured ribs and a fracture to his right knee.  The surgeons worked extremely hard, through the night, from 10:30pm on the 23rd to just about 6:30am on the 24th, Thanksgiving Day, to put his right arm and shoulder back together.  They did the best they could do with what they had to work with, But, as the surgeon explained to me, “It was like trying to repair a shattered vase without all of the pieces… I did the very best I could”.  Mick spent the next 3 days in the hospital in an enormous amount of pain and was extremely shocked to see the external metal hardware that was surgically implanted into his arm to hold his elbow in place.  Mick has metal rod, pins, plates, screws, externally and internally down the right arm.  He also has nearly 100 staples and stitches to hold all together.  Mick is looking at a long, hard road of recovery and a life changing injury, as the surgeons explain that he runs a high risk of never using that arm like normal again. However, Mick has tremendous soul fire, heart of a warrior and is extremely spiritually connected … so we look forward to proving the doctors wrong!  :)

Needless to say, Mick will be out of work for an unspecified amount of time. When he does finally return to work, it will probably not be fulltime and he will need to leave often for continuation of medical care. We are definitely experiencing much anxiety in relation to our financial situation. That being said, I have made a difficult decision, through prayer and meditation, to go outside of my comfort zone and ask for help from our Family, Friends, Earth Angels and Good Samaritans.  I know we had an overwhelming heartfelt outpouring of love and concern for my husband from so many and many of you have asked how you can help. That has meant the world to us during this time. Helping us in this area would be paramount to our family. It is not my favorite thing to do, ask for help… but, I am putting all fear and ego aside to do so.  I pray that God would multiply any and all donations that our family receives and those of you who donate to our family would be blessed tenfold in return.

Thank you in advance, a thousand times over, for your continued prayers, well wishes, love, concern and support!!

Warm Regards, God Bless, and Namaste,

Stacee Howland  :)
