Several years ago Mickey was diagnosed with Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease. ADPKD has caused Mickey to have tia’s, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, blockage requiring heart stents and chronic pain due to the enormous size of his kidneys that are filling his entire abdomen and crowding his other organs creating numerous other health Conditions. ADPKD has ultimately caused end stage renal failure requiring dialysis two years ago. When this happened Mickey became disabled and was no longer able to work. He was evaluated at several facilities whom rejected him as a recipient. In August 2019 he went to The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN and they approved him. InFebruary 2020, Mayo approved Mickey’s living donor. Mayo has scheduled his double nephrectomy(removal of both kidneys), his hernia repair and kidney transplant surgery on June 3, 2020. He and his wife, Charis will have to be in MN for approximately 33 days before, during and after the surgery. Mickey and Charis have 3 boys and need our help covering some of his medical expenses, child care, as well as travel and lodging expenses during this journey.
