This fundraiser has been created by the family and children of Mick and Rhonda Connelly, who are reaching out in the hope of rallying support for them during this heartbreaking and life-changing time.

On Thursday 11th September 2025 Mick was involved in a serious accident at his home that left him with a broken neck and a spinal cord injury. He was rushed to Dubbo Base Hospital, where his condition was critical, before being flown to Sydney for urgent surgery. Doctors fused and realigned his spine with the help of metal rods, and while he has faced complications since, he continues to make small steps of progress each day.

His road to recovery will be long, with doctors estimating at least 1–3 months in hospital followed by many more months of rehabilitation. Through it all, his wife Rhonda has been by his side, providing constant love and support and being his rock. To do this, she has had to stop working, which has placed enormous financial strain on them both.

Mick and Rhonda are hardworking people who never imagined they would be facing something like this. No one anticipates such a sudden, life-changing event—in more ways than one—and the impact has been overwhelming. Rhonda is a strong, proud woman who has always been the one to help others and never ask for help herself. But now, more than ever, she needs the support of her community.

What they need now is help to ease the financial burden so that Rhonda can remain by Mick’s side, and Mick can focus fully on his recovery without the added stress of finances weighing on his wife.
