Running for Second Chance Portsmouth Cats

Donation protected

Last year Mich raised nearly £900 when he attempted to run the “Spartathlon” for Second Chance Portsmouth Cats. It is described as the worlds most gruelling race and is certainly the ultimate challenge for every ultra distance runner. It covers an incredible 153 miles through some of the roughest terrain in Greece.

A year ago Mich was totally devastated after running all day, all night and through to lunchtime on the second day when he succumbed to the extreme heat and the pressure of the clock. He called it a day after 131 miles convinced he’d be timed out if he continued.

Mich was thrilled when his name was drawn for this years event and we are just as thrilled that he will be competing for us once again. It will be his third and (at least according to his wife) his last Spartathlon. The race starts our time at 6am on Saturday 30th September (7am local time) and competitors have just 36 hours to complete the entire 153 mile course. Usually only about half actually make it to the finish line.

We would love it if you could send Mich your best wishes in his attempt and if possible give him your support as well. We are not asking for major sponsorships just a little something to acknowledge a truly remarkable man attempting a truly remarkable challenge. We should add that Mich is covering all the expenses entirely by himself (including his 2 man support team) so 100% of everything he raises will go to Second Chance Portsmouth Cats. We are very proud and extremely honoured to have Mich supporting us once again.
