Miche’s Top Surgery

If you know me, you have probably heard me talk about wanting to have top surgery for years. When I hit puberty, I cried and asked why my chest was growing. I struggled with anger and embarrassment because the body I was in didn’t feel like mine. I’m not sure if you’ve personally had the time to think about what it means to feel human and comfortable within yourself. I have never felt whole completely, it has been difficult. This surgery and support from my community will help me feel at peace in my body. After 20 years of feeling embarrassed, uncomfortable, and constantly trying to hide my chest, I’m excited and ready for my body to represent me. I thank all of you from the most vulnerable part of me for sharing and contributing. I don’t know where I’d be without this community’s love and friendship.
