Malachi 3:17
“They shall be mine, says the LORD of hosts, in the day when I make up my treasured possession, and I will spare them as a man spares his son who serves him.

Precious in his sight. Like a diamond.

Shawn and I have only been blessed to know Ron and Michelle and their four kids for less than a year. But God did something when we first met them... He knit our hearts together in such a way that we've never experienced before with any neighbors we've ever had.

We had unknowingly prayed for them as we prayed for whomever would live in the house next door eventually. Little did we know that all of that time we were praying for people on mission in Spain... nor that our prayers went before them as they were about to face the toughest battle of them all.

Michelle and Ron have been married for almost 19 years and are the parents of four amazing kids, Kirsten (17), Colin (15), Caden (11) and Keegan (9). They have spent their lives together in ministering to God's people, whether in the church or abroad on the mission field. Countless people have been touched by their love of Jesus and their infectious unrelenting joy and hope in what God is doing.

Michelle received the official diagnosis of invasive ductal carcinoma, the most common type of breast cancer, just days after arriving back in the States. She told me the news and immediately we were holding each other and weeping. For myself, I selfishly thought, "God? You blessed me with this beautiful soul as my next door neighbor and friend only to have her get cancer before I've even gotten to know her?!" I wanted to cry, "Unfair!" But God indeed hides some of his richest treasures in some of the darkest places. And I know that Michelle has been seeking and finding these glistening signs of hope at every step along the way.

How dearly I came to love Michelle so quickly is indicative of how precious she is to so many. But even moreso, how precious she is to her sweet husband, family and most of all her Father in heaven. Cancer is a scary and terrifying monolith for anyone to face. And Michelle is like anyone else in that she wrestles with her fears. But she is kicking the darkness and declaring that God is good, reminding herself how dearly treasured she is. A precious jewel. A diamond in a jar of clay... a jar of clay that has been touched by the scourge of cancer.

Ron & Michelle have sought and are actively pursuing an integrated holistic-medical approach to cancer treatment. They are working both with a traditional oncologist and a well-respected integrated holistic team of physicians to attack the cancer from all sides.

Step one was Michelle's radical change in diet for the past few months.

Step two in the process involves Ron and Michelle traveling to a hospital in Mexico through an integrative holistic-medical treatment center based out of San Diego, California, called Oasis of Hope, where Michelle will be treated with a series of advanced alternative treatments.

Step three involves surgery back here at home, recovery and further at-home alternative treatments for approximately 3-4 months with possibly another week of hospital treatment at some point. The goal of course is complete remission of Michelle's cancer.

All of this will take an incredible toll on the Frisch family; physically, emotionally, spiritually and financially. We have set a goal to raise $40,000 to cover the real costs of travel and medication/treatment expenses that they will incur in working toward healing Michelle. It's a tall order but the LORD of hosts owns it all and we believe He is able to provide abundantly for this dear family.

We ask you to pray for Michelle and her family as they continue to walk this journey by faith, knowing that God is both the Lord and giver of life as well as the one who has given so generously to us. So, we also ask you to give generously and SHARE this gofundme page with your friends, family and social network and ask them to share (FB, Twitter, blogs, etc.)

Luke 18:27 But he said, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.”

AMEN!

Lord, please heal our friend!

Love,
