Hi, my name is Jennifer, and I’m writing this on behalf of my best friend, Michelle, who is currently facing one of the hardest battles of her life.
Michelle has been diagnosed with stage 5 kidney failure. Recently, her condition became critical, requiring emergency dialysis. Since then, she has also been placed in rehabilitation to help her regain her strength and remove excess fluid from her body as her system adjusts to dialysis. This has been physically and emotionally exhausting, but it is a necessary step so she can continue fighting and move forward in her journey toward a kidney transplant.
What was once everyday life has suddenly become hospital stays, dialysis treatments, rehab therapy, medications, and countless medical appointments. Michelle is strong, determined, and full of love—but this journey is overwhelming, and no one should have to face it alone.
As Michelle continues dialysis, rehabilitation, and begins the transplant evaluation process, the financial burden is significant. Between hospital and rehab bills, dialysis treatments, medications, transportation to and from appointments, and future transplant-related expenses, the costs continue to grow.
We are asking for help to support Michelle with:
• Ongoing dialysis treatments
• Rehabilitation care to rebuild strength and reduce fluid retention
• Medical bills, prescriptions, and specialist visits
• Transplant preparation costs
• Transportation to appointments and treatments
• Basic living expenses while she focuses on healing
• Unexpected costs that come with long-term illness
This GoFundMe has been set up with Michelle’s daughter, Kadarah, as the beneficiary, so funds can be managed directly for Michelle’s care and needs during this difficult time.
Every donation—no matter the size—will help relieve some of the stress so Michelle can focus on what matters most: her health, her recovery, and her future.
If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this page and keeping Michelle and her family in your thoughts and prayers. Support comes in many forms, and every single one means more than words can express.
Thank you for taking the time to read Michelle’s story and for standing with her during this fight.
With love and gratitude,
Jennifer
