Michelle's fight against Leukaemia

Hi Everyone,
I would like to firstly say thank you to our community for the support and generosity that has been given to Tetiana and Alex (Parents of Michelle) through this time.
December 8th 2020 Michelle was brought to the IWK Children’s hospital as she had a neck spasm. They ran a blood test, urine samples and X-rays but results were inconclusive and she was sent back home.
On January 8th 2021 Michelle was brought back to the hospital for the third time as she was not walking and complaining of back pain. The IWK made them stay in the hospital to run many additional tests such as a bone marrow biopsy, and a spinal tap/lumbar puncture.
On January 10th 2021 Michelle was diagnosed with leukaemia. She then received a bone marrow biopsy on the following day, that determined the exactly type of leukaemia she has.
The diagnosis is B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) CNS 3 and Michelle is currently receiving treatment at the IWK Children's hospital in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
January 19th 2021 Michelle started her first round of chemotherapy.
Her prognosis is classed as a high risk case, it is one of the rarest form to find in young children, her treatment will take 2 1/2 to 3 years.
The money raised from this GoFundMe Page will help cover costs of upcoming medical bills and lost wages. This will allow Tetiana and Alex to focus their energy on Michelle’s recovery and reduce some stress during this difficult time.
"It takes a village to raise a child" is an African proverb that means that an entire community is needed to ensure children experience life and grow in a safe and healthy environment. With the help and support of our community, I believe we can provide that safe and healing environment for Michelle to thrive.
