In September 2014, Michelle Almodovar, a beloved mother, sister and friend, was diagnosed with Follicular Lymphoma, stage 4A. She has already undergone a couple of procedures, but her battle is not over. Michelle will now have to face the grueling steps to recovery while undergoing Chemo. Her treatment plan is aggressive; she is having 3 consecutive weeks of Chemo followed by a 6 month cycle where she will be treated every 21 days.
To know Michelle is to know love. She has the biggest heart and brightest smile. She is the first to offer words of encouragement and wisdom. She is the kind of person you aspire to be like, her smile lights up a room. Her laughter fills the empty gaps of silence, her wisdom is unprecedented. She is the shoulder many have leaned on, but now she is the one that needs the shoulder. Michelle is a fighter and she will fight this fight like only she knows how, but Michelle needs your love and support now as she is up against some tough odds.
WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP:
Michelle is receiving excellent care at St. Barnabas Hospital and everything is being done to allow her body time to repair and heal. She is insured, but the cost of the care she is getting is significant and the insurance only covers a portion of it. If you are able to offer financial support to help defray the cost of Michelle’s upcoming cancer treatment, your contribution - great or small - will help lift the weight of the financial burden.
