A few weeks ago a trip to the ER came with some unexpected news for our daughter, Michelle. After weeks of extreme dizziness, she went to the ER and was told she had a mass in her head, that was pretty large and has caused some major damage. After being admitted and transported to Baptist downtown and lots of testing, it has been decided that a 10-14 hour surgery including a Craniotomy and complete removal of the inner ear and a few other things to reach the mass and remove as much as possible. The mass has eroded lots of bone of the temporal area of the skull, as well as the bone that protects the carotid artery, the facial nerve, a few other nerves and has effected her sense of balance. The mass has, also, entered the temporal lobe of the brain. Michelle will also lose the hearing in her right ear, due to the inner ear being removed. The operation is extremely high risk, but must be done, in order to save her life.
Michelle has been unable to work for the last 5 weeks and will not be able to work for some time to come, due to the upcoming surgery and recovery time. She could certainly use any help to maintain her home, utilities, co-pays and various other monthly expenses, while trying to live, as normal a life as possible, during recovery without relocating.
