Michelle Needs our Support

This beautiful family all endured covid last month. However, Michelle is in hospital due to multiple infections developing: meningitis, septicemia, pneumonia, and a Cerebrospinal Fluid Leak (CSF).

Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) surrounds your brain and spinal cord and provides a cushion to protect them from injury. A CSF leak occurs when there is a hole or tears in the outermost layer of the membrane (dura mater), which allows some of the fluid to escape.

Michelle lives in the regional town of Mildura, but her rare compounding medical condition needed the expert care of a team of medical professionals in Melbourne - six hours away. As a result, one week ago, she was airlifted to Melbourne and underwent six hours of surgery to patch the leak in her brain to stop the CSF leak and monitor her other infections. Unfortunately, four days after the operation, CSF fluid began leaking again from her nose. Further surgery is now required.

Michelle is in the early stages of her journey to recovery, and she is now away from her son, Thomas, six years old and her partner Shane. While we physically can't support Michelle, we can help the family financially.

Financial assistance will ease the worries of mortgage payments, medical bills, visitation costs, loss of wages and so on. Together we can help support this beautiful family through the ups and downs of Michelle's recovery. Any donation will be greatly appreciated and will make a huge difference.
