Rough news on top of rough news - when it rains, it pours? While Michelle Li Murphy was up here helping with Lori, and all that entailed, her beloved studio in Wenatchee was set on fire. Someone painted '33' on the window, and lit the insulated garage door on fire, and it worked through and into the interior. It is a concrete building, so did not burn down, but her silks are gone, her equipment uncertain, everything is smoke and water damaged.

She had just invested in a thousand dollar roll of silk, was halfway through completing holiday orders, trying to get back on track financially - and all material and work is gone. I'm rough guessing that it'll take about 10 grand to get her back to where she was - but pending damages to the building, etc. it might be more. So if you love Michelle Li Murphy, and I know you do, I'm hoping you can help in some amount - if all 1400 of my facebook friends put in 10 bucks we'd be set. So ... I'm reaching out.

Next steps are to get a storage unit, move everything out of the building, make repairs and evaluate everything, and then set it back up. That'll take a month or so at least.

I'm incredibly hurt, of course, by the casual maliciousness of that stranger, I could paint angry pictures in words, but I really I wish someone had hugged that person when they were a baby. Or given them all they needed to be a fulfilled person, instead of a destructive person.

But what is done is done, and this is a chance for us to show Michelle that we love her, and care for her, and appreciate her.
