My name is Karen and this is my child.

In Nov ‘22 Michelle was diagnosed with Wilson’s Disease. A rare genetic mutation that causes copper buildup and attacks the liver, kidneys and brain, unknowingly given to her by myself and her father. She has struggled with medical issues her entire life. A doctor in Bloomington IL finally put all the pieces together after she hit rock bottom. Knowing what she was fighting lead her to lose 120lbs of fluid from swollen lymph nodes in only 6 wks. She started feeling better but then had extreme pain in her left side. This lead to yesterday when she had her infected spleen removed. It was 4x the normal size and caused her to go into septic shock. We almost lost her.

She has severe liver cirrhosis and must have a transplant. She hasn’t been able to have any income since the end of Oct and the bills are piling up. She has received some financial donations but she’ll need more. She is currently in NW Hospital in Chicago, one of only 6 hospitals in the world that are capable of treating this disease. I have to believe that the doctors can cure her. Please know that any donation would help.
