On August 11th, 2020, Michelle (Shelly) Maxwell, loving mother and wife, was killed in a hit and run accident in front of Brockton Hospital while she was out for a walk with her dog Rusty, their Pomeranian, who survived the crash.
Police say 57-year-old Allen Perkins ran her over, killing her and just kept going, later claiming he thought he hit a cone. The man accused of running her over faced murder/manslaughter charges in 1990. He spent 14years behind bars for that. The family members are hoping justice is served.
Shelly was known for her kindness, warmth, calm demeanor and strong faith. She stayed above the fray, strived to help others and never stopped learning.
Shelly was also a true professional and excelled at her job. She started her career at MWRA as an on-call Secretary in 1992 and in 1993, she became an Executive secretary in Wastewater Operations. In 2015, she was promoted to Payroll Coordinator in Finance.
Shelly leaves behind her husband Rev. Robert Maxwell and their two sons, Berhani and Joshua.
During this challenging time, the family is in need of covering the hospital, legal and funeral expenses that come with this tragedy.
Thank you in advance for any and all support you can offer.
