Hi, my name is Derek Urmeneta, and I am fundraising for my sister Michelle.

Today our family lost a beautiful soul. Our Shelly aka Queen Bee was loved by so many and touched so many lives. She was a true warrior, the strongest person I know. Shelly has been battling cancer most of her life. She was diagnosed with leukemia as a child and went into remission twice before receiving her bone marrow transplant. After her BMT she didn’t take life for granted, she graduated from San Francisco State, she married her first love, she traveled often. She enjoyed being with family and friends. She attended every cancer con she could. She never took time or life for granted, she always wanted to be with family and friends. She loved with her whole heart, and you felt it when you were around her. Sadly, Michelle was diagnosed with 3 cancers in 2021. Even during her last year and half of fighting her battle, she was still willing to help those less fortunate. Shelly was a firecracker, tiny but mighty. She never left a dance floor empty. She was always cracking jokes and always had a smile on her face even when she was in pain.
