Michelle Lafevor-Buhro

Hi my name is Audra my coworkers and I are raising funds for a wonderful lady, coworker and friend. We Love her so much and want to help her and her family during this hard time. This fundraiser is very important to us because Michelle and her husband Brad have served others, including their church congregation faithfully for many years. As a nurse in OB, Michelle has blessed many families with her hard work, gentle nature, and sweet spirit! We would like to help lessen the financial burden during this challenging journey.

Michelle was asked to share her story. Below she tells her journey so far and shows such grace. Just one more reason why we all Love her! Please consider helping this special friend of ours!

Hi, I am Michelle. I am an outdoors kinda girl. Nature is my thing. I have been married to a lovely gentleman for 28 years. We have 5 grown children who we are very proud of. I have been a labor and delivery nurse for 26 years and in my spare time run a small dairy goat farm. I follow God with all my heart and know he is in control. Breast cancer snuck into my life in 2019. After surgery, radiation, and medicine we thought all was fine. But unexpectedly the doctors have found metastatic breast cancer in my bones and liver causing quite a concern. Sadly it has affected my spinal nerve roots making walking very difficult. I am hoping with a change of medicine things will turn around. Of course, I am praying for small miracles if God is willing. I would like to believe there is more to life for me and this is just a bump in the road. But with the new decrease in mobility and difficulty walking, I am off work for the foreseeable future. I am learning how to navigate life in a new slow way. Physical therapy has now become a part of our schedule each week. I work with a great group of nurses, my friends like family. They have organized this to help offset medical costs and adaptations to our home to cope with my decreased mobility at this time. In all things, may God be glorified through me.
