Michelle Griffith fundraiser

This campaign is being created by Ashley Parent and Miriam Feldman-Friedman on behalf of Michelle Griffith.

Life throws curve-balls at all of us. We like to think that we are in control of our destiny, but…  we have plans; life has other plans.  Michelle and Drew found each other, fell in love, got married and wanted to plan for a future…for a family.   And then the curve ball. Drew went to the hospital where he was being treated for abdominal pain.  He unexpectedly passed away several days later.  This was last week.  So sudden and so very unexpected.    

Drew and Michelle had been married since 2015 and like every young couple, they wanted to begin their lives together and buy their first home. Like every young couple, they had to work hard, to make ends meet and they took time and care to be practical about their decision-making.  Despite the normal financial challenges, they were able to make progress toward this end. And like every young couple, the idea to start a family was important to them.  In today’s world, there are costs and challenges that everyone faces.  In special cases, they can be significant.  

Drew is gone, but if he had been able to prepare before his passing, he would have wanted to assure that Michelle would have any help she needed to adjust to her new circumstances. Situations like this do not allow for such a plan. Michelle is left with an uncertain future and financial obligations.

Many of our friends have asked what they can do to help Michelle.  Many of them have already reached out with support, with gift cards, flowers and food aplenty.  With COVID restrictions, there can be very small groups with her, and the food is in abundance.  We created this campaign for you to offer your support with whatever you can, knowing that she will be able to prioritize her responsibilities and decrease their responsibilities to something more manageable that she alone can tackle.  Nothing is too small and will truly be a blessing. 

I know we all have our problems – it is part of being alive and being human. The fact that Go Fund Me is effective as a tribute to the goodness of humanity is inspiring. Despite our own problems, we somehow find a way to reach out and help others in need.  Michelle Griffith faces an uncertain future and the primary provider is now gone to the next life.  If you can, please help her out.  A sincere thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
